CarPlay overheats iPhone

When driving and using CarPlay with ABRP the phone gets so hot, it refuses to accept charge from cabled connection to car. Trying to use wireless charging overheats the phone to an extent where the phone becomes unusable. It’s not a CarPlay issue it’s an ABRP issue. I have used CarPlay for several long trips using Apple Maps to plan and navigate but for my last long trip, I used ABRP for navigation, and it burned the phone along the way.

    Thanks for the report - we will investigate how we can improve on this. Are you by any chance running CarPlay with maps in the cluster display (behind the steering wheel)?

      I am indeed running it in the cluster-display as well as main display. That part works great (if it’s not the overheating culprit though :-))

      Sure. iOS 18.2.1 and iPhone 14. And of course the latest version of the app itself.
