CarPlay GPS position updates only intermittently (iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 26.6)

Hello ABRP Support,

I am experiencing an issue with ABRP while using Apple CarPlay.

Setup:

  • ABRP Premium

  • iPhone 14 Pro

  • iOS 26.6

  • Wired Apple CarPlay

  • DS 3 E-Tense

  • OBD adapter connected

  • Using the built-in Mapbox navigation

Issue:
During navigation, the vehicle position is not updated continuously. Instead, the position freezes for several seconds (sometimes up to 20–60 seconds) and then suddenly jumps to the current location. This makes turn-by-turn navigation unreliable.

Additional observations:

  • Apple Maps on the same iPhone and the same CarPlay connection works perfectly and updates the position smoothly.

  • The issue only occurs with ABRP’s built-in Mapbox navigation.

  • The problem occurs consistently during every drive.

  • The OBD connection remains active and vehicle data appears to be received correctly.

Could you please investigate whether this is a known issue with the current iOS/CarPlay version? If required, I am happy to provide logs or perform additional tests.

    I’m having the same issue. Location freezes. It’s becoming very unreliable. Things haven’t worked correctly for about two months.

      I have the same problem.

      I did the same track on monday and the activity was save ok. Yesterday the position stay stopped for several seconds and the track save are large lines.

    Ford F150 Lightning issues/bugs

    1. Current location freezes while driving with a planned route and updates sporadically.

    2. Phone only shows live data while navigating and quits the route if I try to view the map

    3. Unreliable navigation. For instance, voice and map said to make a u turn when the map showed I should keep going forward. The u turn directions were incorrect

      Could you send us a video recording of when these issues show up? We can see that you are driving a Ford Lightning and we have not received other reports for this recently.

        I will try to get video. The frozen and lagging current location and being stuck on live data has been consistent for the last week or so of drives.
