CarPlay freezing

In the past couple of weeks, I experience that the CarPlay app and widget appears to hang. No other CarPlay apps seem to have issues.

This is in a Nissan Ariya.

The map freezes for long periods of time and just occasionally updates. It also appears is if ABRP loses GPS or internet connection (the phone however, does not).

Sometimes the updates happen at apparently random times, but it also happens consistently after exiting tunnels (ie. after exiting an actual blind spot?).
