I tried to use eNode to link my car to ABRP to get current data about SoC etc. This integration didn’t work because I don’t have the requisite data plan from Chevrolet. Okay, fine.
The issue with ABRP is that there was no feedback in the UI to show that the integration wasn’t working. ABRP was trying to predict my SoC, showing it in the UI, on the map, etc. with absolutely no indication that this was just a (very wrong) guess on ABRP’s part.
When a car integration is configured, ABRP should display some visible warning during navigation that SoC is being estimated rather than captured from the vehicle. Otherwise this could lead ABRP to over-estimate SoC and get someone into a situation where they run out of power before reaching the next charger.
