Dear Support,
I bought a Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) OBD2 dongle, which works fine with other apps, however with yours when I connect I only see the iOS-Link connection which as indicated by the manufacturer must be used only by iOS devices; I use Android instead.
Why is this Android-Link connection not visible with your app? I do NOT have other apps open and/or installed that can use it.
So can you confirm that for the dongle to work properly with ABRP I have to use the "iOS-Link" connection?
The data loads correctly, I just wanted to be sure that with this mode, there were no errors in reading the data that could compromise the use of the application.

Hi Thomas,
If I'm not mistaken, the manufacturer has named the BLE version of the connection 'iOS' when in reality it mustn't only be used by iOS devices and the 'Android' version is not a BLE version and therefore not compatible with ABRP.
Please select the available iOS connection option when linking.
I'm nearly certain yes :)
As we are not the manufacturers of the device, we did not set the names of these connection profiles. Usually, connecting is pretty straightforward, but in the case of this dongle, the name is somewhat misleading for Android users.
There is no harm in selecting the IOS option, if it is not compatible, it'll fail our checks and simply not work.
I did find this guide for android users on the vgate forums; forum.vgatemall.com/printthread.php?tid=3817
