The map isn't tracking my location

Hello everyone,

I’ve been having a small issue for the past few days in map mode (i.e., without planning a route). The problem is that the map isn’t tracking my location, so it moves out of view. I have to manually reposition it every time to get back to my location.

This problem is really very annoying in map mode, especially since I don’t have this issue when I plan a route; once a route is entered and planned, the map follows my location correctly and doesn’t drift away.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue, please?

    Hello @Carton,

    Are there any other maps in the infotainment that shows the same issues (Google Maps, Waze, etc)? Are there any apps used for tracking your current location? Was this an issue occuring with the latest update of ABRP or if there a recent software update with MG?

      Hello, I’m only experiencing this issue with ABRP (Waze, Google Maps, etc. are working fine), and I haven’t really paid attention to whether this problem started after the last update, but I noticed it about 5–6 days ago. As for my MG, it hasn’t had any updates since December 2025

        Does it disappear if you try to restart the infotainment system in the vehicle? From what I can find, the instruction suggests to hold the Home button for 10-30 seconds until it goes blank.

          Yes, I’ve tried that too, and nothing’s changed. The strange thing is that this issue with the map not moving only happens on abrp.

          I should also mention, in case it matters, that I use ABRP on the OTTOCAST E2 AI Box; the app is installed directly onto it via the Google Play Store and therefore doesn’t go through my phone.

            Is ABRP the only navigation app you are using through this device or have you tested other ones through the box too?

              I also use Waze, Google Maps and Chargemap without any problems. It’s only on ABRP that the map (outside of route planning mode) doesn’t move.

                I have a friend who has exactly the same AI box as me, and he’s having exactly the same issue with ABRP – the map won’t move – but he has no problems with other navigation apps; they work perfectly.

                  What happens if you try to do this with CarPlay through your phone as this is the most common way users integrate ABRP to their car infotainment? It is not very common for this AI Box to be used so that is why I would like you to see it with CarPlay (not connected to AI Box).

                  Now if you want to use the AI Box instead if it give you an easier usage, then we will still take it into consideration.

    Ich würde mich dieser Frage gerne anschließen da es bei mir über die AI Box auch nicht funktioniert

    Ich habe exakt das selbe Problem, jedoch mit einer Carlinkit TBOX Plus AI Box.

    Alle anderen Navigations-Apps funktionieren wie wie man sich das vorstellt, jedoch nicht die ABRP App.

    Ich denke, eine Einstellung, dass der Gerätestandort = Fahrzeugstandort ist, würde da bereits Abhilfe schaffen!
