BMW iX3 connection fails in 3rd step

Hi, I’m trying to connect my BMW iX3 xDrive 2026+ via obdlink cx. But every time it fails in 3d step.

Can you please guideline me what I can do to get this working with abrp app on an iPhone (iOS 26.5.2)?

Hi
To help us figure out what happens we need you to send a bug report. First you need to enable the bug button in the settings. Go to the Settings → Display & appearance and scroll all the way down.

The bug button will show on your screen. When the OBD is connected to your car and the car is in drive mode click at the button. Then let me know when you have done this.

Thanks @Linda ABRP I will do that and let you know when done. Just to be clear so I try the flow where it fails in 3d step and then go to the screen with bug button and select it and give you timestamp.

  You just need to plug in the OBD in the car and have the car in drive mode. Then click at the bug button that you will see on the screen where the map is.

  We don’t get any data. Can you try to connect to Carscanner and see if that works?

  I tried car scanner but the new BMW iX3 xDrive 2026+ (NA5) is not yet in there list. Anyway I can connect to ELM but not to ECU via that app.
  Can you advise what to do further as Driving Data, Charging Data and Calibration should be available based on your Live Data Comparison page?

  You need to find the correct Pids for that model and then try them in the Pid editor in the app.

  Thank you for your reply and the advice to test the PIDs manually.
  I have done extensive testing in the OBD PID Editor with my BMW iX3 xDrive 2026+ (Neue Klasse).
  Results:
  • OBDLink CX connects successfully
  • Initialization commands → Succeeded
  • Data fetching commands → Succeeded
  • Parsed TLM data remains completely empty in every test
  I have tried many different combinations of commands, equations, protocols (Generic / 6 / 7) and headers, always with the car in Ready mode. Still no usable data appears.
  On the ABRP Live Data Comparison page the BMW iX3 xDrive 2026+ is listed as supporting OBD live data (Driving Data, Charging Data and Calibration). I already shared a screenshot of this earlier in the ticket.
  It therefore seems the current PID profile is still based on the previous generation (2020-2025) and does not work with the new Neue Klasse architecture.
  Could you please check why the 2026+ models are marked as supported while the existing PIDs return no data, and either provide the correct commands or escalate this to the development team?
  I am happy to test any new PIDs or supply additional logs/screenshots.

  If we think the old pids will work with newer models or if any users say so we add them. In this case it seems that they are not working. So in this case you need to find the correct pids and then send us a file from the pid editor.
