Driver's display turns and remains black after using other app in Android Auto

Problem:

The driver's display turns and remains black if there has been a different application using it before (e.g. Google Maps).

When you make the previous application stop using it (e.g. quit navigation on Google Maps), it works as expected.

Expected behaviour:

The previous application should lose access to the driver's display and the new one (ABRP) should gain access to it.

Where does this happen?
ABRP version number (found at bottom of settings menu)

    This seems to be an undocumented behavior of Android Auto and cluster maps - there is seemingly no way to “take over” the cluster map from some other map.

    Does it work if you switch between two other apps with cluster map support?

      I just tried to test today, switching to gMaps worked as expected, but also switching back to ABRP worked fine. I just checked the version I have today and it seems to have changed: 5.6.2 (3221)

      Unsure if perhaps it was fixed with the latest patch or it was a car issue that just appeared and disappeared 🤷‍♂️

      Happy to test more if a specific test comes to mind.
