Better selection by ABRP of certain networks

Having free EVGO I of course want to use them if possible, but ABRP choses chargers based on something else even if an EVGO is just 3 miles away. Please add way to maximize usage of one charging network even if not optimal.

      Yes. Also have Tesla as second choice with one thumb up. As noted by Dong Xi, ABRP still picks other chargers eg Electrify America that are within a few miles of the EVGO charger. We are looking for ABRP option to choose a route with EVGO chargers if at all possible.

            In my iphone app account is a saved plan Home to Lynchburg. Many EVGO chargers are along the route but not always chosen.

                    But $20-$30 more each way. Is there any setting that would pick EVGO? If not, can ABRP add a Choose cheapest route setting? Afterall this is a major selection criteria for most trips.

                      We don’t have a feature that select the cheapest route. You can set avoid for Tesla and Electrify America but maybe it gives you other charger than EvGo anyway.

                      One solution is to make a plan then change the chargers you don’t want to EvGo chargers that are near the one we have selected. Then you need to click at the charger icon on the map and add them as waypoints.

                        lol exactly what I do but what ABRP should be able to do automatically. Both lowest cost chargers and one brand as much as possible should be features added. Thanks for looking into it.

                        BTW the latest version in the Google store for the Lyriq still doesn’t work - car freezes on map at one of the next restarts . No problem report button is shown.

                This is an easier one. Within 3 miles in Ellensburg is an EVGO Pilot Flying J yet ABRP picks Tesla. Why?

      I think the way the preferred networks are handled is not efficient. It shall be a list where the topmost network gets the highest priority, provided that the duration of the route is not increased by more than 5 or 10%

    I’ve noticed this too. I tried to plan a round trip route from home to an EVgo charger. The route included a charging stop, at an EA station a few miles away from the EVgo charger. In my settings EVgo is preferred above EA (two thumbs up vs one thumb up).

    Do other factors, such as charger score, contribute to the selection algorithm?

      You had not added the actual charger as a waypoint, just the address where the charger was at.

        So, questions:

        1. The charger address was my destination. Is that different than a waypoint?

        2. How do I ensure that I’ve entered the charger as a waypoint (as opposed to the address without the charger)?

        3. Why, when I was at the same address as an EVgo charger, and EVgo is preferred above EA (two thumbs up vs one thumb up), and the chargers have equivalent speed ratings, and the EVgo has a score of A vs B for the EA, would the routing algorithm send me to an EA charger instead of the EVgo charger at an address I’m already at?

        4. Is there a description somewhere of how the charger selection algorithm works?

          1 & 2 If you click at the charger icon on the map you can add it as a waypoint.

          If you add the charger as a waypoint we charge there instead of somewhere else.

          4 No we don’t have a description but it depends on different things. If you have one thumb up + a charge card for that network it’s worth as much as two thumbs up. We try to choose the networks you want as much as possible without making the plan longer in time.
