I am a Hyundai Ioniq 6 user and I rely heavily on ABRP for long-distance travel. I have a suggestion to improve the user experience, specifically for EV drivers in cold climates.
Currently, ABRP displays the "Battery Max Temperature" in the telemetry data. However, for effective battery conditioning and monitoring during winter, the "Battery Minimum Temperature" is often more critical. Knowing the coldest cell temperature is essential to understand if the battery is ready for high-speed DC charging.
My suggestions are:
Add Battery Min. Temperature: Please include "Battery Min. Temp" as a data field. Ideally, users should be able to see both Min and Max to monitor thermal uniformity.
Android Auto Optimization: Currently, if I want to check the battery temperature while navigating, I have to exit the ABRP map and check raw OBD data elsewhere. It would be a huge safety and convenience upgrade to have the Battery Min. Temperature displayed directly on the Android Auto dashboard overlay.
Prioritize Min over Max: In many cold-weather scenarios, the minimum temperature is the bottleneck for charging speeds. Providing this data at a glance would help users manage their pre-conditioning more effectively.
This addition would make ABRP the ultimate tool for E-GMP platform users (Ioniq 5/6, EV6/9) who need to track thermal data closely.
Thank you for the great work!
