Back button inactive (Automotive)

The back button is frequently inactive and thus I cannot select a plan or restart from the beginning. Even the "Refresh" or "Clear" buttons do not reset my application so that I can select a plan. I have attached a screenshot of the menu that I can't access any more (taken from my laptop). Yesterday I did see this main menu and I was able to open the list of Plans. Today it is gone and I cannot find how to get it back.
