ABRP is essentially unusable in the UK because there is no option to stay on A roads or avoid special classification roads - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-road-classification-and-the-primary-route-network/guidance-on-road-classification-and-the-primary-route-network - yesterday (as an example) it took me down a one track road which I met a tractor on and had to reverse half a mile - this never happens with any other sat nav in the UK because they all - by default - avoid these roads and has been that way for as long as I can remember, ABRP feels like the first years of satnavs from the US until the manufacturers worked out they needed to actually check what road they were using. google maps API has road classification for UK roads, at least put in a check that you're not going down a one track road and avoid it if the user wants to. This isn't a special case, there was no reason to do it, I backed up went back on the same road and carried on and got where I needed to go without using that farmer's road - these things happen every time I try to use ABRP, not always as ridiculous, but it's always a silly c road.
Just a note, since the early 2000s this has been an option on ever UK firmware of satnavs to the point where it has just become default ON (how long has it been since you heard a story of someone being routed into a farm or something because the satnav decided to use a private road? (ABRP will do that.))
