App stops tracking progress

When i am driving with a planned route and go to another app on my phone, and then come back to ABPR, for a moment it looks like it's been tracking progress along the route and the remaining range matches closely to what's shown in the car and the estimated range at the destination is about what it was before i left the app, and then, suddenly, the remaining range goes back to what it was before i had originally left the app, and then the estimated range at the destination increases because we are closer to the destination. So I have to replan the route with the car's current range estimate. This also happens if i turn off the screen on the phone for a while. It would be great if the app didn't miss a beat while you go use other apps or turn the screen off.
