App recommends better route, but new next charger is too far away.

In a recent long distance trip the app regularly recommended a better route, but would not show any details for it until after I accepted it. Once I accepted it, the next charger would be much further away than what I can achieve with my current range. It was interesting to see that the app would automatically change what it thinks my battery charge percentage was to a much higher value. I dont have live data turned on and the percentage that existing before accepting was within 2% of my actual charge.
