App hangs very frequently with bottom drawer open

Pixel 6 Pro, Android 12. After entering route specs and requesting a routing bottom drawer almost always freezes. Map cash still be scrolled/panned. After killing the app (remove from recents) it will restart with the route available, and scrollable for a timer or two
