App doesn’t want to continue route after arriving at a charging stop

Upon successful arrival of a charging stop (app announces “you have arrived…”,) and charging completed, the nav function of the app wants to return to the charging stop where we are. It issues guidance to the current location, and upon driving away from said charging station, it insists on making a u-turn and returning to the charging station, even though the charge is complete. Even after tapping “Back” several times and re-planning the route, it still insists on going back to where we just were without continuing towards final entered destination. The only way we can get it to do so is by killing the app on the phone, re-opening it and using recent searches (or re-entering destination from scratch) to recalculate/plan the route anew. Very frustrating.
