Android Auto is useless when ABRP is not active on the phone

This started very recently. Android Auto worked… acceptably… up until some point approximately last week. Currently, the vehicle's location will not update, the SoC will not update (linked to torque), routes cannot be planned, and navigation will not take place on AA if the phone's screen is not turned on and the ABRP app open. I've experienced this on my LG V60 and my friend's Samsung S21+.
