Android auto creating a route

When I am plugged into android auto, I just get a spinning circle when attempting to create a route. It never seems to stop. The GPS signal is flakey, it only updates every few seconds and my car indicator almost is never on the road. If I go off route, it won't recalculate a new route. The connection to my OBD2 reader for live data is wonky-seems the data drops out a lot and then reconnects.
