Android Auto broken after last update

Android Auto is broken (again). After the last update (4.2.12) the GPS position and whole app freezes every few seconds. It's doing this even with screen on and app in foreground. Every time it is reloading the map it is like it's losing GPS position. It's unusable.
I have Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Everything was working perfectly before this update.
