ABRP unusable with iOS27 Beta

I am using ABRP daily in Germany, Austria and Switzerland mostly. My setup is CarPlay, an iPhone 16 pro and an BT OBD adapter to get power data. Since I updated to iOS27 Beta 3, life navigation - especially the update of the map - more often than not “hangs”. It seems that ABRP (latest version) and the new scheduler don’t speak the same language.

      Not OP, and I tried the previous Test Flight version and had the same issue. I figured it had something to do with iOS 27 beta, but I couldn’t really nail that down because half the time ABRP works as expected, the other half of the time it works as OP is describing it.

      I’ll try the TestFlight version again to see if it’s better.

        What a bummer, sadly your video link isn’t working for me, it just points me to all your comments. I didn’t experience any issues so far but I’m not having an iPhone as daily driver and no CarPlay on my car…. Bench testing did not bring up issues you are seeing so far.

        Are you using OBD too like the OP?

          Yep I’m using OBD. Something I noticed was a drive might start off fine, but if I switch to a different full screen CarPlay app, and head back to the dashboard or ABRP in full screen, it starts doing this again.

          There was a new iOS 27 update yesterday. I’ll play around with that and see if that resolves it at all.

          Edit: I was able to replicate this again this morning on my drive into work. ABRP was working as expected for my drive until I opened another app full screen (in this case, the Apple Books app), I had Books open for about a minute and switched back to Carplay’s dashboard and ABRP was doing the thing from my YouTube video again for the rest of the drive, it happens inside the ABRP app full screen too.

          Hi Manuel, just an update to my comment from earlier. I recorded a new video on my way home. As you can see, ABRP is working as expected until I open another full screen app. Very likely just an iOS 27 CarPlay bug, but ABRP seems to be the only app this has an issue with.

          Let me know if there’s anything else I check or try.

            We had something similar before already where iOS would stop giving location updates when switching to some other CarPlay app. Could you please check the iOS app settings, the location permission should be set to “always”.

              That was actually something I switched to after my last comment. It was set to while using the app before. So far it’s been good. I’ll let you know if I experience any more problems with it. Thanks for getting back to me!

      Hello Manuel,

      Installed Beta 4: on the regular ABRP behaviour changed slightly: No picture just default CarPlay background in full screen mode, normal behaviour in the widget mode. Installed TestFlight and ABRP beta now to better support the process.

        Hi,

        Reproduzed it today, see Images:

        Full screen View: unuseable

        At the same time normalmoperation in this View. Later full screen worked again
