ABRP Fails to Acknowledge a Waypoint Has Been Reached/Passed

ABRP fails to recognise that a waypoint has been reached, so when I pass through the point (town/suburb) and set off to my next destination, ABRP keeps directing me back to the unacknowledged waypoint.

I don’t know whether this is a usage error on my part generating this outcome, but it’s extremely frustrating and my single largest annoyance with ABRP. The only solution I’ve found to date is to stop the trip in ABRP, edit the trip to erase any prior waypoints, so that ABRP thinks the current stop is actually the starting point for the trip, then Start the newly trimmed trip.

From raising this issue on line in various forums, I’ve found many users claiming they experience the same problem. Out of interest, when the trip is exported to Google Maps, I do not experience the same problem.

I am using ABRP on an iPhone 14 Pro (latest OS), connected to an OBDLink CX, and CarPlay, with a mobile phone connection.

    Thanks for reporting! Can you share a plan where this happens to you? and tell us which way you are passing and expecting the waypoint to be marked as done.

      Matt, I thought I’d recreate the trip where I most recently had multiple occurrences of the issue.

      1) Upon departure from the first pass through, Kilroy for Esk, ABRP kept wanting to take me back. I had to pull over, cease the journey in ABRP, erase Home, so ABRP thought Kilroy was the start of the journey.

      2) Same thing departing Esk.

      3) Same thing departing after the long stop at Highfields.

      I have included an Esk charging stop in this, which I deleted from the trip when I did it last Friday.

      Although there was no charging stop on this trip, as it was my first trip deliberately push below 10% on arrival home, in just days before this incident:

      1) I was asked as I approached a DC charger about my charging experience, yet,

      2) After charge completion, ABRP failed to acknowledge I had visited the charger and tried to navigate me back to the charger.

      I hope this is of assistance.

      I drive ABRP hard and really enjoy it, but this has always been and persists as my greatest bugbear!
