ABRP Does Not Factor-in Station Charging Limits
Electrify America has implemented charging limits at some stations to reduce congestion (see Congestion Reduction Effort | Electrify America
https://www.electrifyamerica.com/soc-pilot/). ABRP will suggest routes requiring charging beyond the 85% limit at EA stations.
For example, plan a route from Disneyland, CA to Blythe CA and back to Disneyland using Electrify America as the preferred charging station. ABRP recommends stopping at the EA Desert Hills Premium Outlets to charge to 90%.
However, that EA location implements an 85% charging limit meaning the traveler cannot charge to 90% there.

You can set the maximal charge to 85% or less in the settings. We have also just released 7.0.2. Please make an update, set the max charge to 85% or less and see i you get a better plan.

Hi Linda, thanks for the reply. For completeness: I get the same behaviour on 7.0.2 (5765) on both web and Android.
Adjusting the charging maximum to 85% does get me a more usable route. It charges to 85% in Desert Hills, meaning I arrive in Blythe with 5% less SoC and so charge for slightly longer in Blythe,
This is a pretty good work around (thank you Linda).
I would argue the bug still exists, however. I can imagine circumstances where a better route requiring charging over 85% exists - either using EA stations that don’t impose the 85% limit or using non-EA stations. Imposing the 85% charging limit would cause ABRP to ignore that better route.
Obviously, I could plan both with, and without, the 85% limit and manually compare the recommended route in each case - but I would rather ABRP did the work for me! 🙂

We don’t get any data from their chargers right now so we need to see if it’s possible to add this feature.
