ABRP crashes on board navigation system, and vice versa
ABRP on a CarPlay cannot work in parallel with the onboard navigation system Kia EV6. The onboard navigation system is necessary for preheating and conditioning the battery before charging. When ABRP navigation it started it forces the onboard navigation system to stop, and when the navigation on board the car is restarted, it stops the navigation in ABRP . This is quite annoying since the onboard navigation system is necessary for conditioning batteries, and they cannot be used in parallel.

This is a behaviour that Apple enforces and which unfortunately we can't do anything about.
“Immediately terminate route guidance when requested. For example, if the driver starts route guidance using the vehicle’s built-in navigation system, your app delegate will receive a cancelation notification and must immediately stop route guidance”.

During 3 three week roadtrip in January and beginning of February 2026 it was possible to use both ABRP and built-in navigation in parallell. Is it possible to revert the app version I have on the iPhone to this older version?

If this is not possible then I would like to cancel premium and ask for a refund.

It’s not ABRP that has changed anything, it’s Apple. That’s why we can’t change it.
Since you have signed up at App store you need to make a request for a refund there.

This is very strange requirement that I cannot run an app in CarPlay and the built-in navigation system at the same time. CarPlay has no problems at all to run for navigation apps at the same time with voice instructions Google maps Apple Maps Waze, and ABRP, all work in parallel. So if it was a problem running several navigation apps at the same time it’s strange that I can do that on the phone but not run one on the car and phone at the same time.

It is a strange requirement that Apple enforce that only one navigation system can be active. If I start Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze and ABRP with guidance to a position all at once I can have four systems giving me driving instructions all in parallel, and that is much more confusing than just having the onboard built-in system and ABRP.
I guess it’s a typical Apple function that they don’t want external navigation systems competing with the iPhone.
My workaround will be to not have a premium subscription and not have ABRP in Apple CarPlay.
