ABRP and OBD2 dongle high battery consumption

I use abrp on Android Auto and I have it connected to an OBD2 dongle (OBDLink CX), but this is consuming quite a lot of battery from my phone… I also see that ABRP is reading from the dongle continuously. Is that normal?

I would assume that reading data from the OBD2 dongle every 10 seconds or less should be more than sufficient?

Anyone else having this problem also?
