Ability to add a charging stop to a plan already calculated

Why can't you add a stop to a charger while on a plan? I didn't find a way. I could add a stop for food, restroom, etc, but not a charger.

Use Case:

I left with an hour to spare on a 4 hour route to a Drs appt in case there was unexpected traffic. I realized I'd arrive very early and since I was going to drive back right after, I wanted to charge before the appointment instead of waiting until after.

I could cancel my current plan to locate one, but then I wouldn’t know what impact this would have on my arrival time estimate.

Ultimately, I wanted until after, meaning the overall trip took longer.
