AA not working

Doing a long trip today, the app is fine, route data all ok. But on my car screen it just hangs at the calculating route part. Even though the app is fine. When I unplug the phone the app says oops something went wrong.
What's more frustrating is that it works flawlessly until I need it.
It really needs to be more stable.
Car is MG5LR.
