Where Does POI Information Come From?

Today I noticed that ABRP has an old address for a local business (screen capture below). When I searched in Open Street Map for the business, it is no longer at the old location. If I’m reading the changes in OSM right, the last change at the old address was over three months ago.

Does ABRP use a different source for business / POI information?

Also, I’m wondering what the “time going backwards” icon means on the address. Is there a place where the meanings of the icons used in ABRP can be found?

    Three questions:

    1. The data from HERE (https://here.com if anyone is curious) seems to be pretty random in terms of quality (based on the amount of outdated information & recently opened (like in the range of more than 6 months ago & less than a year ago) establishments that are not listed in my area. From looking at their website, it appears that they don’t have a way for “mere mortals” to query their database, but they do have a process for reporting errors. How responsive are they?

    2. Is HERE also the source of charger locations? Does this explain why there are often duplicates that are not recognized as chargers?

    3. Could you publish a list of all of the data sources you use? From reading posts about ABRP here and on other forums it appears that a lot of folks assume that OSM is the “official source” and are puzzled why changes made there aren’t seen. I think you’d get a lot of good will from being open about your sources, especially if you also linked to their update pages.

    To suggest edits for POIs in our maps:

    • Open the WeGo app

    • Click on a POI icon in the maps (or search for a specific business by using the search bar)

    • Select the option ‘Suggest an edit’ on the bottom bar

    • Enter your suggested edits for this place

    If you’d like to add a new business, we recommend to either use the Map Creator tool or send an email to appsupport@here.com with details about the place you’d like to add.
