What is the meaning of vehicle label "estimate"?

Guessing I'd think it means the consumption parameters shown in the profile are only rough guidelines and not really backed up by real life data.

Would that be adjusted over time if I connected live OBD data (and signed up for premium)?

    Hi @Wolf D,

    Thank you for the question! ‘Estimate’ means we’ve only based the model on vehicle specifications as provided by the manufacturer themselves, or other sources. We have not been able to model it based on real-world data as we don’t yet have any.

    Linking your vehicle via OBD would:

    1. Provide calibrated consumption for you and make predictions more accurate than just using the default model

    2. Help ABRP gather real-world data to improve the default model for all ABRP users and transition it to beta, then no label.

      Thx @Katya S., I tried to search for “estimate” in the documentation but for some reason didn’t find that post….

      Is a premium account needed for data collection on your end or is the OBD connection sufficient? (If so you should already see some data from my car)

        We still have some work to do in terms of updating the documentation articles :)

        No subscription is needed for what you’re describing! The OBD option can be used without a subscription; it is only if you want to log the data for your own view and use that you’ll need ABRP Premium.
