What are the conditions for 'My drive' to be recorded?

Hello, I am using ABRP over CarPlay (iOS).

I’m wondering what the condition is for my drives to be recorded.

Do I need to have ABRP turned on and in the foreground on CarPlay?

Can I be in the widget screen of CarPlay (Where the map, the next turn instruction and media control is shown?)

Is it possible for ABRP to record my drives without ABRP being in the foreground? (Perhaps, even not connected to CarPlay?)

I’ve found the navigation on ABRP to be unreliable (road closures are not updated well enough and I’ve run into these problems twice already last week which required me to turn on Google maps). I’m wondering if I can navigate using Google maps and still keep ABRP logging my drives.
