2026 Nissan Leaf SV+
I have had my 2026 Nissan LEAF SV+ for 9 months now and would really like to be able to use ABRP’s highly recommended services. But my car is still not available in your system. Failing that, I tried to use the other methods you provide to add my vehicle - in particular, Vehicle Model ID. But I can find no information anywhere on what that even is - much less what the correct ID for my vehicle is. What is a Vehicle Model ID?

I, and multiple others, have submitted the “Request” option for this nearly year-old vehicle multiple times. And “Create custom vehicle” requires several details I am unable to provide. That leaves “Add using vehicle model ID” - something the internet appears to have no information about.

You have to press “Create custom vehicle” and then either select an already existing model and make the changes from there or press “"Set up from scratch” to start a completely empty template.
You can make changes to name, trims, range and many other features here.

As I just said, I tried that. It requires details I don’t know. Things like charge curve and chemistry.
But, more to the point, this post was asking about “vehicle model ID” - something I also just showed is an option that ABRP offers, but that no one appears to know anything about.

We will release an updated article about the new feature that you can read and find information regarding custom vehicles.
The vehicle model ID is exclusive for new vehicle models that you create yourself, as in the example below where I created my own vehicle and it gave me the vehicle model ID. (not the same vehicle as the Nissan, but just for reference as to how the model ID shows for new created custom vehicles).
In this case, you will have to add it yourself or wait until we add the vehicle ourselves to ABRP which we cannot give a time estimate for since we have many other vehicles at hand.
I can help you with the information about charge curve and chemistry according to previous users that have made custom vehicles. Could you send me a link to specifications of your vehicles that you know are correct? This will make sure I send correct information for you to add.
I will add values to the custom vehicle and send it to you after I confirm the specifications you send me. Would this want me to do this for you? Let me know so I can help further!

I have to say though, it seems odd to refer to this as a “Custom” vehicle as it is actually a very popular production model available from dealerships for nearly a year now.
I think I understand your process on arriving at a vehicle model ID. But my experience appears to be different. When I select “Missing vehicle model?“ I am given the option to “Create or add a custom vehicle.“ But when I select “Add using vehicle model ID” it goes straight to the “Enter a vehicle model ID“ screen where the only option is to fill in the 32 character ID myself - not have it give me one. Hence my original request for an explanation of what a vehicle model ID is.
Regarding your offer, here is what I can tell you. Following the “Create custom vehicle” option, I select “Create new”. There I can select Nissan, then Leaf, then 2026. But “See all variants” only offers “e+ 62kWh FWD 59 kWh“. That does not belong there as those specs belong to the previous 2nd generation Leaf - available from model years 2023-2025. The 75 kWh 2026 LEAF is an all-new (3rd generation) build with significant improvements in several categories. I found a website that might have the details you are looking for (https://ev-database.org/car/3366/Nissan-LEAF-Extended-Range-75-kWh). BUT, I don’t think you should use this as it is a European site and I know there are differences between the European and American models of the 2026 LEAF. Mine is American.
That leaves the “Create new” option of “Set up from scratch”. Under “Edit the vehicle specification“, it’s a Japanese car, so I assume Units are Metric. Manufacturer: Nissan. Model: LEAF. Trim: SV+. Model year: 2026. Heat pump: No. Motor layout: single. Drive train: FWD. Usable capacity: 75 kWh. DC connectors: CCS (with adapter) & NACS. Charge curve: «UNKNOWN» (https://evkx.net/models/nissan/leaf/leaf_long_range/chargingcurve/ might help. But, again, it’s a European site. American results might be different.) The same with the rest of the information requested. Chemistry: Lithium-ion? DC fast-charging preconditioning: No battery heater in this model. Cycle: ????. Rated range: 463 km. Curb weight: 1,919 kg. Body shape: SUV. Aerodynamic efficiency: (0.26 drag coefficient). I noticed the page suggested “Leaf Long Range 2026 matched on EVKX.net“ from details I had provided. But selecting “Autofill” entered some details that did not match what I indicated above. I believe “Long Range” is a hint that this is referring to the European model.

Just to clarify, I do not refer to the actual vehicle as a custom vehicle, that is just the name for when you create it and that is the same for other vehicles models that other users create. Others have requests it aswell and I can merge your request to those posts, but we will update those users about the possibility to create it themselves before we release it officially ourselves.

Even if the specs look different, if you change them out and the name of it, your own consumption rate and other metrics for the vehicle will change completely. I will read the information you have provided, find any additional information to clarify the correct numbers and send this to you in the format of how it have it in “Create custom vehicle”.

Good news, I think I may have found more of the information you will need. This website actually specifies details for the North American market 2026 Nissan LEAF SV+ and the details I checked appear to match what I had found previously (except, apparently, it does have a heat pump). https://www.evspecifications.com/en/model/95cb3ed
