Hi @Paul Blake,
Does this charger belong to a network?
Is it free of charge or does it cost, and if so how does one pay?

This one is free.

Ok! As it appears to be non-networked, free and it seems unlikely to receive live status for it we recommend adding it to https://openchargemap.org/ which we also fetch chargers from. Once added and accepted in OCM it’ll come available in ABRP within a couple days.
If you’re however missing chargers belonging to networks we’re happy to forward requests to our data provider.

It’s been on Open Charge Map for a long time (OCM-170058) but it’s still not in ABRP.

Thanks for clarifying, then this might be due to us not including the plug type yet. We’ll continue to investigate.

Thanks. These 3 phase plugs are extremely common in rural areas, and often the only charging option, so ABRP can’t plan trips in large parts of Australia. I’ve stopped using it or recommending it to anyone.

Understandable. I can see there’s a feature request for this plug type here; Add australian 3 phase option(s) to Charger Types though for some reason it hasn’t gained a lot of votes.

I suspect the main reason for this would be that anyone who needs 3 phase chargers doesn’t use ABRP; and you can see how difficult it is to get them included!!
There are free alternatives that do include these chargers, so why bother complaining when you can easily use something better?
Most people who travel in Australia use Plugshare. It’s open format means people can add new chargers when they discover them, and update details about costs, availability, reliability, access issues and their precise locations. I’d guess that Plugshare has nearly 100% of charging locations in Australia. ABRP’s trip planner is much more sophisticated but you don’t need sophistication when the basics don’t work!
Also, most Plugshare users register when they start charging so you can see (live) whether a particular charger is available (and working!). When there’s only one or two charging options possible for hundreds of kilometres, this information is critical.
There may be some places in Australia where trip planning works with ABRP but for me, it’s missing so many chargers, it’s unusable.
