How can I select 'north up' for navigation orientation?

The orientation of my map stays oriented to the direction of travel

I was traveling on a very curvy mountain road for hours. The experience was extremely disorienting. What can I do to select a north is up orientation?

    Hi

    Click on the compass symbol on the screen and there you can select North up.

      There seems to be no compass on the screen. It only appears sometimes when you are navigating.

      How can you make 2d and north upwards the default?
