2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range (75 kWh LG battery)

I have a Tesla Model 3 2021, refreshed model that added heat pump and few other updates. Some vehicles came with LG Chem battery instead of Panasonic. LG charges about 20% slower overall compared to Panasonic, it has a lower peak charge rate and drops quicker.

Please add this vehicle version to make trip charging estimates correct. Especially if you intend on not bringing back “charging overhead“ adjustment.

Below is linked a crowd-sourced info about Tesla Model 3 batteries at various time periods. I have battery designed as LG 5C „M48“.

    While we're working on adding more public models to ABRP, you don't have to wait to get started. We've just released a new vehicle modeling tool in ABRP that lets you create your own custom model.

    You can create and edit custom models on the web here (log in with your regular ABRP account):

    Once you've created a vehicle model, you'll find it at the top of the vehicle list in ABRP under "Custom vehicles".

    Quick way to get started from inside ABRP:

    1. Open ABRP and click Add vehicle on the vehicle card (or click the down arrow next to your current vehicle, then choose Add new vehicle).

    2. Scroll to the bottom of the vehicle list and click “Missing vehicle model?”.

    3. Click "Create custom vehicle".

    4. Pick a similar model and edit it, or start from scratch, then save. After you save, ABRP will automatically select your new custom vehicle.

    We really welcome any feedback you have on this feature, it will help us improve both the custom modeling tool and future public models.

      I started from Tesla Model 3 Long Range 2021 (75 kWh) and tweaked it by setting up custom charge curve. Now charging estimates for the same road trip route I did recently match much closer to what it actually was.

      What is a little weird, now in Vehicle settings under Details the “Vehicle“ row has truncated text “Tesla Model 3 2021-2021 Tesla Mode…“. This does not match vehicle name visible in the Custom Vehicles list, it should. Also I would have wanted to edit the name or at least to add some descriptor to indicated that why I created it (LG Chem battery). I mainly use ABRP for road trips and may forget these tweaks if not used for few months. Before the recent road trip I hadn’t used ABRP for a while and when tried to check what exact Model 3 variant is selected it wasn’t obvious and I wasn’t sure if selecting a different vehicle wouldn’t clear calibrated data, so did it only after the trip.

      Given Model 3 2021 LR wasn’t missing I didn’t think of trying what “Missing vehicle model?” does to discover ability to create a custom vehicle. Now that I have a custom vehicle, I see Custom Vehicle menu item. I don’t recall seeing this before. If not already present would be good show this at least a the bottom of Add Vehicle menu if there are no custom vehicles yet added.

      Custom vehicle config seems pretty complete. I am not a fan of efficiency expressed as “Range @110 km/h” that implies it is constant while in fact it decreases since battery degrades. It would be batter to use actual consumption of Wh/km or kWh/100km.

      I see you linked this request with other request “Tesla Model 3 LR MIC“ about cars produced in China. Mine was produced in December 2020 in USA for German market.
