Subject: Toyota Proace City Verso Electric 2025 – OBD PID compatibility and safety issue

Hello ABRP Support Team,

I own a 2025 Toyota Proace City Verso Electric with a 50 kWh battery.

I would like to connect my vehicle to ABRP to automatically retrieve the battery State of Charge (SOC).

I previously attempted to use an OBDLink MX+ adapter, but the vehicle experienced serious issues when the OBD connection became active:

  • Loss of READY mode

  • Vehicle electronics restarting or shutting down

  • Collision prevention system warnings

  • Other dashboard errors

The problems disappeared after disconnecting the OBD adapter.

I also attempted to connect through Enode using MyToyota, but no vehicles were found.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Is my exact 2025 vehicle model officially supported by ABRP via OBD?

  2. Which ECU addresses, OBD commands and PIDs are verified for this vehicle?

  3. Is there a known issue involving ECU resets or loss of READY mode on Stellantis K9-based electric vehicles?

  4. Is there a confirmed safe configuration for reading SOC?

  5. Is there a way to read SOC passively without sending diagnostic requests?

I do not want to reconnect the OBD adapter until the safety issue has been investigated.

Thank you for your assistance.

What type of vehicle connection is this?

    Hi Linda,

    Thank you for your response.

My vehicle is a 2025 Toyota Proace City Electric with a 50 kWh battery, and I am using an OBDLink MX+ adapter.

When ABRP connects to the vehicle through OBD, serious problems occur:

    • The vehicle loses its READY status.

    • Collision avoidance and other safety system warnings appear.

    • The vehicle sometimes shuts down or restarts.

    • After disconnecting the OBD adapter, everything returns to normal.

    Could you please confirm:

    1. Is my exact vehicle model officially supported by ABRP for live OBD data?

    2. Which PIDs and diagnostic commands does ABRP use for this vehicle?

    3. Could incorrect diagnostic commands cause these issues?

    4. Could you escalate this case to the ABRP development team for investigation?

I would be happy to help identify the problem, but I do not want to risk another vehicle shutdown.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi

If you save your car and click at Connect live data you will see the live data options for your car. The OBDs we recommend is Choosing an OBD device

If your car is supported by OBD the pids for your car is correct.

Regarding nr 3, I have not seen such issues.

It’s safe to connect your car with both an OBD and Enode but you should disconnect the OBD when you’re not in the car.
