Real-time traffic information

Hello, why does ABRP not take delays into account? I always compare the proposal against Google Maps and ABRP never takes delays into account of traffic jams, works, etc. Is this a feature you don’t support? It seems that ABRP is aware of the information as the roads are coloured in orange or red.

I also noticed that the arrival time is updated when being actually at or in the traffic jam. Which is nice but too late.

The arrival time at start is never correct. This is annoying to inform others. This is really a deal breaker in my opinion.

    Hi

We do include the delay in our plan. We don’t have the same time as Google because we get the information about the traffic from different sources.

      Hello @Linda ABRP ,

Then the source is not very reliable I’m afraid. I will provide another example soon where the difference was almost 20 minutes. For my daily commutes this is important. Long term travel I can understand it is less of an issue.

Aside not being able to communicate a proper ETA to others, the use of alternative routes is not properly working as ABRP does not propose alternatives as it thinks there are no or only little delays while in reality it is much worse.

I hope you can find a better way to do this.

Hello @Linda ABRP - here is another example, this is currently a daily delay as there are works on that road, you can see a difference in timing of almost 25 minutes. On a trip of about 1h30 (without traffic) this is huge. Google Maps will eventually propose alternative routes, while ABRP will not as it thinks the delay is short. So the data you get is rather useless or not correctly taken into account? You also stated that delays are taken into account based on the data you get, but in the below example, the duration of the trip is about what is shown without any traffic jams, given the fact that ABRP shows two delays (in in yellow and on in red) I’m not convinced you have this correctly setup in the app:

    Here is an example:

    https://abetterrouteplanner.com/?plan_uuid=a6002a41-cd08-4671-9b11-6f52be331163

According to ABRP 54 mins, ABRP shows the delay in color, but does not take into account the actual delay:

And Google Maps (also Apple Maps) does take into account the (this time limited) delay:

Thanks for looking into that. As you seem to have the data, but it is not “used”?
