OBD Support for KIA EV3

Live Data Requests

I would like to ask OBD support for the recently introduced KIA EV3.
As the 2 yeas older RV9 has this possibility in ABRP, the new EV3 shuld have it too.

What type of vehicle connection is this?

    Hi,

    We need the OBD PID commands and how to interpret the returned data. Since this is not easily available for most vehicles there is not possibility for us to provide a time estimate.

    You can check our telemetry API for relevant properties:

    If you find that an existing vehicle profile reads data correctly, please let us know, but please DO NOT keep using the incorrect vehicle model with live data.

            Nice! Could be that the PIDs we use for say, the Niro or EV6 models could work. Here’s what you can do once you have access to the vehicle and a dongle;

            1. Select the actual model of your car, save it

            2. In vehicle settings, change the model of the saved vehicle to one that you suspect has compatible OBD commands (just any model will not work, it needs to be compatible)

            3. Link the vehicle via OBD (details here; https://www.iternio.com/abrp-obd )

            4. Select the correct vehicle model again

            5. After verifying that the data is read correctly (or even partially correctly) notify us that the OBD commands for vehicle model X also works for vehicle model Y.

              Ok, thanks. I will obtain an OBD dongle (most propably Vgate vLinker MC+) and try what you suggested. When I achieve some progress I will notify you.

              Hi,

              first impressions about the OBD scanner connecting to ABRP in a Kia EV3 vehicle:

              What does not work (connection interrupting with error):
              - EV9
              What seems to work:
              - EV6 2022-2024 Standard Range
              - e-Niro (from 2022)
              - e_Soul (from 2021)

                Thank you for checking! I’ve looked at the vehicle on your account but I can’t see any data linked to it? Did you remove the live data connection?
