Missing charger connector types for Azerbaijan (GB/T, CHAdeMO, etc.)

Hello,

I have been actively adding and updating EV charging locations in Azerbaijan via OpenChargeMap, and the data appears to sync correctly overall. However, I am noticing that certain connector types are not displaying in ABRP.

Specifically, connector types such as GB/T, CHAdeMO, NACS, and some others are correctly entered and visible in OpenChargeMap, but they do not appear in ABRP when viewing chargers in Azerbaijan. Only limited or generic connector information seems to be shown.

Could you please advise whether:

  • These connector types are currently supported for this region in ABRP, or

  • There is a known mapping/filtering limitation between OpenChargeMap and ABRP for Azerbaijan?

I am an ABRP Premium user and am contributing charger data locally. I would be happy to assist with validation or testing if needed.

    Hello @Elvin Huseynov,

    We have not fully inserted the charger types from OpenChargeMap in our own website currently as there are other regions with higher usage of electric vehicles currently. There are other examples of countries where requests has been received but does not have biggest usage such as Pakistan.

    We will of course keep this in consideration and if there is more information you can provide for us regarding this, then please let us know here so we can discuss it further!

    Example:

    • Any sort of database you have that provides information regarding EV usage/vehicles being used in the country?

    • Do your vehicles use different sort of outlets for vehicles (such as Nissan Leaf that maybe has GB/T charger in Azerbaijan). Does the charging outlet for a similar vehicle differ in Azerbaijan and outside of Azerbaijan?

      For Azerbaijan, enabling connector-type visibility (and ideally filtering) in ABRP is important because the local EV fleet and infrastructure are not “CCS2-only” like much of Europe:

      • EV import mix is heavily China-led, which strongly correlates with GB/T (AC + DC) dominance in the vehicle fleet.

      • On the infrastructure side, Azerbaijani network operators are already deploying dual-standard DC units (CCS2 + GB/T) at the charging locations across the country.

      • For AC charging, Type 2 (IEC 62196) and GB/T (AC) are key destination standards.

      • CHAdeMO still matters due to early adopters (e.g., Nissan Leaf) and remains present in Baku’s public charging ecosystem.

      So the practical ask is: please activate/add at minimum these for Azerbaijan in ABRP’s OpenChargeMap ingestion/mapping:

      • DC: CCS2, GB/T DC (and keep CHAdeMO)

      • AC: Type 2, GB/T AC
