Kiwi 3E not supported

Hi,

I am an owner of a Kiwi 3E adapter. It works fine on other apps, but here it seems not to be supported. Any plans to add it at some point? Anything else I can do?

What type of vehicle connection is this?

    Hello @ABRP User #866952,

Can you send us a website showcasing this vehicle? It seems we do not have the vehicle in the app to select in general.

Sorry, maybe I wasn’t clear enough: it’s not about the vehicle (an MG MG4 that is in the list) but the OBD adapter.

I have a PLX Kiwi 3 which is a fine OBD adapter. It works well with any other app I’ve used so far, but with this particular occasion, it is greyed out and if I tap on it, it states that the device is not supported.

So the support I am referring to is about the adapter itself.

Sorry for the confusion regarding this

Any update regarding the matter now things are clearer? I don’t know if this issue gives enough information so far or not

Can you please send screenshots of the button showcasing that the device is not supported? We are not aware of many users that has the Kiwi 3E adapter, can you confirm that it is BLE (bluetooth low energy) since this is a must to sue with ABRP?

It is BLE as stated in my comment prior to your answer here.

The message itself would be the same no matter which BLE device is seen. Which is obviously okay for all of them as they are not an OBD adapter, but the Kiwi 3 is so it shouldn’t have any issues with it.

For instance,Torque and Car Scanner are seeing it and working with it. The latter states that it is a BLE adapter.

Kiwi 3 is compatible with iOS which is also a big hint towards the fact it is indeed a BLE adapter

Could you send screenshots of the message that it is not supported?

This would say that on all devices tho. The “Learn more” led me here, hence my ticket

Could you send us a website showcasing this adapter? We can find the Kiwi 3 adapter but not then 3E that you mention in the post. Alternatively, you can send us a picture of how it looks and any specifications you can find about it.

Is the Kiwi 3 different from the 3E?

Just to be sure, I've checked again and it is indeed a BLE adapter, so there is nothing wrong on this side

Same here. Kiwi 3 not supported, on the same vehicle (MG4)

You might want to try an indirect connection via Torque or Car Scanner.

Car Scanner has an option to forward data to ABRP. It needs a token which can be generated in ABRP. This option labelled “Generic” can be found in ABRP next to the direct OBD connection.

There seems to be also an option for Torque. But I don’t have Android, so I wasn’t able to test this.
