OBD support for Hyundai Ioniq 9

Hello, I am not seeing an option for OBD2 on for my Ioniq 9 SEL. I have tried 2 supported OBD2 Bluetooth devices without success. I’d like it to work for my OBDLink CX device please. Anything I can do on my end to get it to connect? Thanks!

What type of vehicle connection is this?

    Hi,

We need the OBD PID commands and how to interpret the returned data. Since this is not easily available for most vehicles there is not possibility for us to provide a time estimate.

You can check our telemetry API for relevant properties:
    documenter.getpostman.com/view/7396339/SWTK5a8w

Also, you can check our (partially outdated) OBD repository to see what other cars report:
    https://www.github.com/iternio/ev-obd-pids

If you find that an existing vehicle profile reads data correctly, please let us know, but please DO NOT keep using the incorrect vehicle model with live data.

      Could be that the PIDs we use for an already supported vehicle model could work. Here’s what you can do once you have access to the vehicle and a dongle;

      1. Select the actual model of your car, save it

      2. In vehicle settings, change the model of the saved vehicle to one that you suspect has compatible OBD commands (just any model will not work, it needs to be compatible)

      3. Link the vehicle via OBD (details here; OBD Connection )

      4. Select the correct vehicle model again

      5. After verifying that the data is read correctly (or even partially correctly) notify us that the OBD commands for vehicle model X also works for vehicle model Y.

Hello @Katya Skog Hello, thank you for this option. I just tried the Hyundai 2025 IONIQ 6 AWD and linked the OBD2 in my Hyundai IONIQ 9 AWD. It appeared to read the vehicle data correctly. (See the attached screen shot) Hopefully this gives you the PID info you need to enable the option for my IONIQ 9. Please let me know if I can help in any other way!

Hello @Thomas or @Katya Skog is there anything I can do to help with OBD2 Support for the IONQ 9? Thinking about cancelling my ABRP subscription since the OTA feedback from MyHyundai is too poor to justify this app without OBD2 support. Thanks!

    Hi @Jake ,

There is no OBD option yet. But you have now requested it via your post here.

One other thing, My IONIQ 9 is actually the North American version with the NACS port… I noticed that isn’t an option for the vehicle, only the “CCS”. I wonder if ABRP needs a “NACS” version too?

Really looking forward to using the OBD2 with the Ioniq 9 since MyHyundai isn’t great for car telemetry. Thanks!
