Hi,
Bike racks, trailers, and other additions can be very different in design and, therefore, elevate your consumption differently. Estimating your consumption would require more information than simply the added weight.
We do take the weight into account for how much pressure is put on your tires, for instance, but there's no easy way of determining the amount of air resistance your specific trailer has in combination with your car model. Of course, we would like to make these scenarios easier for our users to plan and estimate, but we're not quite there yet.
However, it is possible to link a car for live data, which, given the live data connection supports it, allows us to calibrate your reference consumption. If you're a premium user, you can access the configurations feature. If you're currently subscribed to Premium and you've had your car linked, I'd suggest doing the following;
1. Go into; Settings (advanced) > Car model
2. Click the cog wheel to the right of your saved car in the list
3. (If you do not have a standard configuration added for your car, first create one)
4. Then you may add another one for when you're driving with a bike rack
In short, different configurations let you set different settings profiles. But more importantly, we'll be able to calibrate different consumption values for each configuration. All you'll need to do is ensure that the proper configuration is selected, live data is connected and then you can drive as we calibrate the value.
Perhaps not the simplest preparation process, but it can be very nifty if you switch between driving without and with a trailer often.
The other alternative would be to set a higher value for your reference consumption manually, but this is also more difficult to guess correctly.
