I have selected several Charging networks, but ABRP only shows Tesla chargers

Questions

In my settings I have selected ChargePoint, Tesla, and EV Connect, but when I run the planning ABRP only gives me routes with Tesla chargers.

Why are the other networks not being considered?

I have performed manually planning where I included all networks, and came up with better routes.

    Hello @Hans Hansen.

    The reason you get only Tesla chargers during your route has to do with it being more optimal. They are bigger stations which the plan recognizes as being better due to more availability and Tesla chargers has a very big coverage in the US. If you remove Tesla as a preferred charging network in “Options” in the plan besides “Plan” or “Drive” (depends whether you have planned it already or not), you can still get the Tesla chargers sometimes and also other charging stations such as IONNA or Electrify due to being more optimal.

    Your plan does not get affected negatively from this, or are there any reasons as to why you would want the other charging networks besides Tesla in the plan? The Tesla chargers has many stations and therefore gives good route planning.

      This is good stuff.

      I will be driving thru regions, where Tesla superchargers are sparse - and frankly, I have a hard time getting more than 180 miles out of my model Y. Therefore, I need to see if there are other options

        What regions are you driving there where the chargers are sparse? If you can send me a plan, it would be easier to help you with the issue. To do this;

        1. Plan the trip in ABRP

        2. Click/tap: ‘Share plan’

        3. Click/tap: ‘Share ABRP link’

          Here are two routes for this summer:

          for both of them I have to break them up into smaller stages, as I only want to drive 6 hours max every day

            As you can see in the first route you linked you have Pilot Flying J as the first charging stop. In the second route are two additional charging stations that are not Tesla (Pilot Flying J and flo) which means that the app has found these as optimal stops for your route. There are a few stops that are more than 150 miles between each other, do you want them to be more frequent than this or are the routes okay for you as they are now?

              Yeah, I got these two charging stations to show up too, and that’s all fine.

              My experience with my Tesla is that if I plan on more than 150 miles, things become sketchy - consumption wise.

              The thing I do not understand with ABRP and Tesla is what they base their planning on - is it driving the speed limit or something else. I can see that the topography is being considered, but beyond that I have no clue, and it really would be helpful to understand the underlying algorithm
