Fisker Ocean PIDs Submitted
Hi,
Live data for the Fisker Ocean is missing for obvious reasons. However I was able to data mine the OBD data to get the correct values needed. I have submitted the data to you but not sure what are the next steps. I want to be able to test constant ping and make sure it’s working.
At the moment I can only get the instant data when I test connect.
Thank you.

PinnedHello @ABRP User #3123377,
Where have you submitted the PIDS to us? We have not received a notification about this, please send a link to the post.

In the app I pressed “Test parameter configuration “ and verified they worked. Then I pressed “Submit Configuration “
Is that not the process?

We do not have OBD connection currently, only the Car Scanner live data option that you can use. It is relatively new to ABRP.

Yes, so if I go to
Settings → Vehicle → Edit Connections → OBD PID Editor → I create my own PID set and can test them. I am able to get true data and test it after connecting to an OBDBLE device. Although for some reason the test connection only works one time.
Once I do this, it lets me submit and tells me it was submitted to the team for review.
The data I tested does show up in the live view when in a route but it’s not live streaming since I suppose it has not been verified.

Any new input to my questions?

Could you try submitting these PID sets to us again? We have not received them.

To which email address have you sent the PID set?
ABRP User #3123377

Ok give me a sec, I will submit them again.
It doesn’t tell me where it sends them to.

When I press “submit configuration “ I only get a “Configuration Saved” pop up.

Another thing to note. My PID Config is working, I can connect to the OBDBLE and I get the live data but it’s not constant. As soon as I exit the connection screen ABRP drops the connection and I see “OBDBLE not Connected “ on the live screen

Are you connected to Car Scanner during the setup process and with the OBD? Since there is no formal connection type that we know more of, we are not sure how the connection drops after exiting the screen. (Car Scanner is a relatively new form av connection)

Maybe I’m asking the wrong question.
Under the “Live Data” menu I can connect to my OBDBLE device. That’s good.
I can also test manual PIDs since the Fisker isn’t part of the ABRP environment yet.
Once I do this I can see the stats on my screen when routing.
It always says connected on the “Live Data” but it does not continue to get the data every second or however it’s supposed to.
Here is a screenshot of the live data connected.
My question is, since I submitted my own PIDs should it ping the car via OBDBLE as long as there is a connection? If so are there any specific instructions, if not how do we make this happen?

This is a question we cannot give a good answer to as CarScanner is very new to us. We had it added to ABRP recently and therefore we have not had many reports and feedback regarding it. From your experience, it sounds like a connection is able to be established but the live update is not constant. You should be able to have updates throughout the journey you take while it is active. Could you report to us again after you have tested this while driving and also if you lose connection during drive?

Yes exactly. Here is what I see.
I created manual PIDs since Fisker Ocean does not exist.
Wanting to test it prompts to connect to the OBDBLE, I am able to connect. I tested PIDs with positive data. I believe since it’s a Test it only triggers once, my device outputs on the log that the BLE CONNECTION is terminated. My device is an open ELM that will connect and keep connection active as long as the master keeps it, in this case ABRP.
ABRP report connection connected as seen in the above image. But while a route is active it will only display the data from the session when PID were tested. It will display “OBDBLE not connected” bottom left.
If I reestablish the connection it keeps it connected as long as I’m in the connection screen; however, it won’t request newer data periodically.
It would be good to know if that periodically data pull is there or able to be setup.

Hi Any new insight? Or is there anyone I can message for more info on how this system works?
Mahde - ABRP

You can message Car Scanner themselves about this and see what they can help out with regarding the connection. We are new with using it and need many users testing it to see what results they acheive.

What the contact information for Car Scanner? Are they part of ABRP or a partner in the feature implementation?
Mahde - ABRP

We tried finding the contact info ourselves and it seems to be only one developer so it might be difficult to get answers from them.
Does it say where the data you have submitted is being sent, we have not received any information about it yet.

Ok please let me know who I can talk to about this.
It use to have an email but not anymore, where can I submit the data images for your review?

We do not have the possibility to make changes for Car Scanner unfortunately. Are there any other procedures that you have tried in the meantime when you have tried to get the OBD working properly?

Maude, in the Car Scanner app I can use the custom PID I input and the app pings my BLE module every 5 seconds no issue. When I use the same custom PID in ABRP I get the data but the cyclic ping isn’t there. I am assuming because the custom PID are not yet supported. Who do I send these to, to get them supported for the community??

Could you try doing this to test if you can get the ping in ABRP?
In ABRP, go to Live Data, pick Car Scanner and copy the token. In Car Scanner, turn on its ABRP setting with that token and set their custom SoC PID as the SoC value. Then keep Car Scanner running while driving, and don't connect the dongle from ABRP's own OBD screen at the same time, because only one app can use it.
If ABRP shows wrong values then the fix is in Car Scanner's formulas and not on our side.

So this suggestion works. It is what I’ve been using. I get live data correctly using the Token through Car Scanner on ABRP.
Knowing that, my original question is. Will ABRP ever integrate something similar so I can get live data from a BLE device straight from ABRP. That way I don’t have to load two different apps.

That is possible for us to do since we have many other vehicle with direct OBD live data option but you would have to send in a separate request for us to add the OBD live data option for your vehicle.
Be aware that it would take a longer time for us to add it to your vehicle due to other users sending in requests for same vehicles which creates more upvotes. We will have to prioritize these requests before the ones that are not as upvoted.

Perfect! That is what I was trying to get to. Ok so how or where do I submit the custom PID to? And should I create a new post for the community to upvote?
Mahde - ABRP
Oct 16
You can submit the PID by creating a new post on Featurebase and you should do this so we can have it separate from this one.
For the new post you have to select “Live Data Requests” then OBD and insert the PID you have saved into the description. Let me know if you need more help with it!

What format should I paste the PID? I can’t seem to be able to export them from ABRP.

Where exactly are you trying to get the PID from? Please show this to us so we can help you from there.

Hi. If you have Fisker BMS DID data, I can make a software for that. Write me info@nsc.ee, If you have data, please share with me and I make a software for free
