Feedback and Questions About Navigation and Map Display in CarPlay

Dear [Support Team / App Development Team],

First of all, I’d like to say that the app is great overall — the features it offers are very useful and well implemented. However, I’d like to share some feedback regarding the navigation and maps, which I’ve also seen mentioned by other users.

  1. The navigation experience is quite limited, especially when using CarPlay.

  2. One specific issue is that the arrow icon representing the car is too large, which makes the map look cluttered and less clean. This happens not only in my car, but also in other vehicles where I’ve tested it, so it doesn’t seem to be a car-specific issue.

  1. Additionally, I was wondering if it’s possible (or planned) to reduce the size of the car indicator arrow, or provide customization options for it.

  1. Another improvement would be to allow the map to be displayed in 2D mode in CarPlay, with the view aligned in the driving direction — similar to how Google Maps and other navigation systems work.

  1. Lastly, are there any plans to update or replace the current maps? A more refined design — closer to Google Maps in terms of clarity and detail — would be a great improvement for the overall user experience.

    Hi @Miguel Angel Villalta,

    1. CarPlay is limited by design. Apple does not allow developers to design CarPlay implementations freely due to agreements concerning safety between Apple and vehicle manufacturers.

      If there’s a specific feature you’re missing in CarPlay, feel free to describe it in a feature request.

    2. If you think the vehicle arrow is too large, feel free to submit a bug report including images of your vehicle screen.

    3. Not at the moment.

    4. This is already possible, you can switch between different view modes on your phone - additional to the few available in CarPlay. Try it out in driving mode before your phone is connected to CarPlay.

    5. Feel free to submit a more specific feature request for what you’re looking for.

      Hi! I’ve noticed that the interface and icons in ARP are way too large across all the cars I’ve tested — Hyundai, SEAT, and others. It looks like the scaling is extremely high, as if everything is zoomed to 200–250%. The icons take up too much space and the overall UI just feels oversized and unrefined.

      Would it be possible to add an option to adjust the scaling or UI size? Something similar to how Windows allows 100%, 125%, or 150% display scaling. On modern screens with high resolution, it would look much cleaner and more usable at 100%. Right now, even on large displays, the interface looks huge and low-quality.

      Just a suggestion — smaller or adjustable UI scaling would really improve the experience!
