enode connection enable/disable

Questions

enode connections will poll the vehicle when it is idle (switched off) around once every 10 mins, even if ABRP is not active on any device or browser. This leads to the vehicle being kept awake when not in use. In the case of my BYD Seal, this results in the loss of about 1% SoC and 5km of range per day. (Typically, the car will lose 1km per day, and 1% every 5 weeks).

Please provide a feature in ABRP to do one or more of the following:

  1. Manually disable/enable enode connection to the vehicle, (Without having to unlink enode)

  2. Only enable enode connection if an ABRP session is active,

  3. Configurable enode poll interval,

  4. Timeout enode connection if vehicle is inactive.

    Hi, I just setup abrp / enode with my ID Buzz Pro (2023) and it looks like it wakes the Buzz every 2 to 4 hours, resulting in a drain if 12 V battery. After two days, the car went completely offline to prevent further drain of the 12 V battery.

        One of those cars was an old profile. I have now deleted it. “Selkie Seal” is my current one.

        Also note I unlinked “Selkie Seal” from enode a few days ago because of the excessive battery loss.

      No. I haven't connected HA to enode.

      I just have a Zappi with no vehicle integration.

        I found this online so it seems to be a connection between Zappi and Enode. “When connected through Enode, zappi chargers adapt to any household setup, regardless of tariff type or technical knowledge.”

        I have seen this before with other users.

          I do not have my Zappi connected to the vehicle via enode.

          The only enode connection to my BYD vehicle is via ABRP.

          If I unlink ABRP enode, my vehicle the car will lose 1km range per week, and 1% SoC every 5 weeks, if I link it via enode, I will lose 1% SoC and 5km of range per day. This is about 45 times the rate of battery usage when the vehicle is not in use.

          I have put this observation up in Facebook, and other ABRP Users with BYD vehicles using enode connections have confirmed a similar observation.

          It is clear that the frequent 7 to 10 minute polling of enaode towards the vehicle is keeping the vehicle awake. (It normally goes into a sleep mode after a few minutes when it is turned off)

            Zappi has a connection with Enode. You car has a connection to Enode. If your zappi charger is near your car it seems that it tries to “talk” to your car because both are connected to Enode.

              No, my Zappi has no connection with enode. This issue happens no matter where the car is. I observed it last whist it was parked in an airport car park 50km away from my home. It happens at our country farm too.

              My Vehicle has only 2 authorisations for remote connections. (In addition to my own vehicle access) One is for ABRP, and the other is for BYD App access for my wife. Zappi is not connected or authorised.

    I got this answer from Enode:

    “We have already reduced how often we poll BYD vehicles to limit this drain. Unfortunately, given the way our platform is currently configured, there is no way to fully stop polling or gate it on an active session on a per-user basis.

    We have created a ticket to track interest in this feature and will evaluate it, though we cannot commit to a delivery date at this stage.”
