Display theme doesn't follow car setting for Android Auto

When I’m driving the phone is connected to the car with a USB-C cable. The display theme is set to follow the car. When I turn on the car when it is dark outside, ABRP comes up with a light display theme. If I then open a different app in Android Auto and then go back to ABRP, the display theme is dark, as it should. Seems to be 100 % reproducible.
