    Hi @Ismael Espinosa,

According to the information I can find, this vehicle model should be identical to the already available BYD Seagull. Is this not correct?

Hi @Katya Skog as per my understanding, yes, it's the same under the name Seagull or Mini in another markets. For Spain, this Dolphin Surf model, has either 30kWh or 43,2kWh battery rather than 39kWh

Thank you for confirming. We’ll add another version so that people can find it under the name they know, but until then, please select either the Dolphin Mini or Seagull.

The BYD Dolphin Surf is quite different from the BYD Seagull or Dolphin Mini. It's 20 cm longer, has a different battery, weight, and range, and is approved for Europe. There are three versions available:

      • "Active": 30 kWh battery

      • "Boost": 43.2 kWh battery and 88 bhp, with a WLTP range of 322 km

      • "Comfort": 43.2 kWh battery and 156 bhp, with slightly less range than the Boost model

If I use BYD Dolphin Mini / Seagull settings, the OBD2 port isn't working. I've tried with a Vgate iCar Pro (the 2S version arrives tomorrow, so I'll try with that too to see if it makes a difference) and ABRP is saying it can't receive SoC data.

This is probably because the Dolphin Mini and Seagull transmit data differently from the Dolphin Surf. I've tried with all other BYD models and versions and ABRP always gives me the same error: OBD2 dongle connection is fine, but it then fails to receive SoC data.

Anyway, if you tell me I can send you real-time data for my Surf so you can add it to ABRP's supported car list, I'd be happy to, but I've no idea how. I see there's an option to register an API key but I don't know where to start.

Hello, is it possible to know when we'll be able to get the new versions of the BYD? Thanks.
