ABRP & Ioniq 5 Pre-2025 In-Car Navigator
Previously, I was able to use navigation with ABRP and the Ioniq 5’s (pre-2025 models) in-car navigator simultaneously. This was important to me because pre-conditioning the battery for the car can only happen when navigating using the in-car navigator.
With the new v7 update to ABRP, I can no longer do this. Can I get this back to working so I can use the app alongside the in-car navigator?

“Immediately terminate route guidance when requested. For example, if the driver starts route guidance using the vehicle’s built-in navigation system, your app delegate will receive a cancelation notification and must immediately stop route guidance.”

I have the same issue, except with KIA. It worked fine before version 7. This is insane. Is there no appeals process? KIA/Hyundai has a horrible designed system for their battery conditioning, and we're forced to use their mapping system in order to precondition. Having to disconnect CarPlay and use ABRP from my phone app is much more dangerous. Especially since if I'm not using KIA's navigation system, I can be running Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze all simultaneously.

Yep, and it’s pretty frustrating to see that ABRP (at least the person who responded to me) does not understand the issue. This isn’t about using two navigation systems in iOS at the same time. This is using ABRP in CarPlay while using the in-car navigation systems (outside of CarPlay). I think we just want to know what changed between v6 and v7…

It’s a requirement from iOS, that you can only use one navigation app at the time. So unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this.

Hi Linda - I think you might be confusing the issue here. This isn’t about using two navigation systems in iOS at the same time. This is using ABRP in CarPlay while using the in-car navigation system (outside of CarPlay). My car’s software allows to split the screen - one screen can show CarPlay and the other can show outside-of-CarPlay, not related to iOS, car apps. The question here is what changed between v6 and v7 (since v6 had no issues).
