AAOS app not available for MY26 Volvo EX30

Questions

I have a Volvo EX30 MY26. When I search for ABRP in the built-in Google play store, i do not get any results. However, when in another EX30, of MY25, ABRP is found and can be installed. The only difference except model year is the version of the Volvo layer of the software, I have 1.7.1 and the other car has 1.6.4…

Is this something that should be solved by Volvo, or is there some compatibility flag to set when publishing the app on the Play store? (I am an Apple user in all other cases, so I am not very familiar on Android restrictions)

    Hi @Elia Falk,

    We publish a general version of the ABRP app for AAOS It is up to the vehicle manufacturer to decide which third-party apps they want in their vehicle. So technically, you should be able to find ABRP in the MY26 vehicle, but for some reason, Volvo seems not to have permitted it.

    In this case, we would recommend that you ask the manufacturer’s support why you’re not able to use the ABRP app.

        Thank you. It would be interesting for us to know what they reply. We, of course, want ABRP to be available in the more recent Volvos as well.

I got in contact with a very friendly support agent that forwarded my request to look into the matter to the Volvo “technology and design team”, however with a note that I will most likely not receive any personal response from them. So I guess that I will have to just keep trying every now and then…

                Thank you very much for notifying us! Can you recall there being any software update recently? I’d otherwise simply suspect it was unlocked on Volvo’s side.

                  No software updates that I’m aware of, my car was delivered with the latest released Volvo SW (1.7.1). I tried the other day without success, but now the app appeared without any other action than a new attempt from my side. I’m a happy camper :)

        This ticket concerns not being able to install the AAOS app in EX30 vehicles. It has been handled (by Volvo) and is in no way related to failing connection with Enode.

          Right but there are two other ex30 owners… who could shed light on whether this problem is just me, while I wait for you to look into it!
