Weird Hungarian translation

Whilest the program is very popular in Hungary, there is a common opinion among the users: voice commands often sound very strange/funny/incorrect.
- Sometimes some English terms are simply not translated: e.g driving towards a roundabout the speaker says (theoretically in Hungarian): “take harmadik exit”. The pronunciation of the words “take”, “exit” sounds as if they were original Hungarian words. It’s terrible to hear :(
- Sometimes there is a translation, but not really correct.
For example, before the next action the user is informed how long it takes to reach this point. “In 300 meters turn right”. That sounds in ABRP/Hungarian: “300 méter belül fordulj jobbra”. But it should be “300 méter múlva fordulj jobbra”.

There arer other similar funny things, and I would like to offer my help to improve the translation quality. Please let me know how could I help the most: translation, corrections, etc.

      Hi Katya,

      Thanks for the info.

      - I have studied the GitHub repo, and tried to make some translations yesterday. I must have done something false, because nothing can be seen from what I have done for hours. OK, I have to learn a bit more about this tools.

      - Today I have tried a newer round with much fewer items. This shows up as an open pull request. So far so good.

      - But, something troubles me. I tried to find the last contribution about the Hungarian texts. I could find a pull request from PomkHU, created on 12 March 2024. There are lots of good translations in it, wich absolutely cannot be found in the recent ABRP app versions (5.5.2 live or 5.6.0 beta).
      The pull request is in a Closed status till 30 April, and as far as I recognise it well, it is awaiting for the final merge command from someone authorized to do so.
      More than 8 monthes have passed and nothing happend.
      That is not really encouraging for someone who is ready to spend time and mental energy to improve the quality of your software.

        I wasn’t the one to close the one by PomkHU, but looking at I,t I find that;

        • No description was provided (which can be overlooked sometimes)

        • There are formatting errors that would cause the JSON file to misread and the app to misbehave, where the author shifts between the correct " and the incorrect ”

          Thanks for the quick reply.

          Do I understand correctly, that the pull request from PomkHU can not be merged at all mainly because of the mentioned technical errors?
          In that case I am willing to rework this whole task in smaller packages and send them to review one by one.

          A question: if everything goes well, how much time does it take for a smaller package (with say 50 translated items) to be reviewed and merged into the main repo?

            Correct, this pull request would need to have the formatting errors corrected else it could break things.

            I can see that you’ve submitted your own PR and that we’ve merged it.
