Feedback and requests after our recent trip from Puyallup, WA to Boulder, CO and back.
First positive. Predicted state of charge (SOC) was usually within 2% of our actual arrival. Only once did we arrive with about 5% less than predicted but that is likely due to battery preconditioning for about 30 miles. I love the range bar that moves toward my next stop while charging. And once that range bar reaches that stop I β¦reallyβ¦ like the predicted SOC at that stop that changes as charging continues. It allows me to know exactly when I can stop charging and be on my way.
Now negative. About 3 or 4 times during the trip ABRP navigation told me to exit the freeway, only to immediately get back on the same freeway. Thankfully I ignored the directions. The route was along I90/I82/I84/I80/I25. On our last day from Burley, ID to Puyallup, WA everything worked fine all the way to Yakima, WA. However on the leg from there to home about 20 miles north of Yakima, on I82, ABRP wanted me to turn around and go back to Yakima to take US12 across the mountains. Google maps told us to continue on I82/I90/SR18 to go home. I tried clearing the route and setting my destination to Home several times and it still insisted on taking me back to Yakima even when I would need to recharge to make it home. Finally, I exited ABRP, started it again, and selected Home. It finally allowed me to continue on as originally planned.
Requests. First, the ability to prefer traveling on freeway. Preferably with the ability to specify a maximum of extra SOC that will be used by doing so. For example, between Hermiston, OR and Yakima, WA; I want to stay on I82, not take the back roads to cut the corner and save about 5% battery. Second, the ability to avoid Toll roads.
